Safety & Welcome
Feel welcome to be your true self, safer, and/or more secure. In every moment that you feel these things, you have it in you to give these gifts to others--with your presence alone.
Helpers in this family: Our "flaws" and fears and pain. Common and abundant “weeds” such as plantain, cleavers, self-heal, purple dead nettle, dandelion, horsetail, chickweed, stinging nettles, and red clover. Also, wild yarrow, Douglas fir, lemon balm, pine, willow, western red cedar, cottonwood, and usnea lichen, and cultivated comfrey, marshmallow, rosemary, sage, tulsi, feverfew, calendula, rose, chamomile, goldenrod, lavender, peppermint, spearmint, aloe vera. Also, the presence of plants with which you have fond personal memories from days past. For example, geraniums, peas, potatoes, & apricots remind me of one grandmother, hostas connect me with my other grandmother, while rhubarb, strawberries, lilacs, & pumpkins remind me of Mom and cherries, lemons, butternut squash, parsnips, and primroses remind me of Dad. All these plants help me feel both safe and welcome. Just their presence. What plants do this for you?
