Peace of the Trees gift set

This Peace of the Trees gift set is a collaboration between the forests and herbalists of Ritual Mischief here on Whidbey Island and the olive trees and artisans of Bethlehem and Handmade Palestine in the West Bank. The set holds one of their gorgeous-grained and heavy olive wood soap rests made from branches trimmed after autumn olive harvests and one of our soaps made with winter windfall or sustainably trimmed or gifted tree branches.

• Forest Bathing soap made with windfall Douglas fir, western red cedar, and wild rose petals all hand gathered by Ritual Mischief herbalists on Whidbey. - or -
• Moon Blessings & New Beginnings soap made with Whidbey plum blossoms and willow, branches hand gathered by Ritual Mischief herbalists, and scented with jasmine. 

Proceeds from each gift box support families in both locations, trees in both locations, friendships that cross old boundaries, and traditional crafts there and traditional herbalism skills here. 

As a gift set, these handmade items come tucked within shredded wood and our dried botanicals, are held in a thick white gift box that is also shippable, and they hold our card plus a gift message from you if you'd like. This set lives in our Safety & Welcome (green) emotional support family of offerings.

If you'd like to include a Gift Message inside the box, please leave your message in the Comments field as you order and we'll handwrite your message on a small card tucked into the box. Locals, you can choose Pick Up at checkout to pick up here at Ritual Mischief and save on shipping. I'll email you to arrange a day and time for pick up at your convenience. 

Shipping. We ship in the continental US via U.S.P.S. mail and priority mail. If everything goes well, shipping takes between 2 and 5 days. If the gift is for an important event, especially during the busy winter holidays season (November & December), it's best to allow 10 calendar days, because the postal system can get overwhelmed in places and during certain times of the year. If you're buying for Christmas, for example, we suggest ordering no later than December 15 to get the gift to someone in time for Christmas. It likely won't take that long, but we don't want to disappoint you if the post office decides to take its sweet time! Orders must be in by noon Pacific Standard Time to reach our post office that day.

If you're shipping gift sets to more than one location, you'll need to do them as separate transactions, because I am not currently tech-savvy enough to figure out how to do otherwise. And I may never be.

Storage and life of the products: To extend the life of the soap bars, store them on the soap rest where they can dry quickly after use and where they don't get regular spray from the faucet. Unused, the soaps will last a very long time, possibly even longer than you and me.   

Size: Of soap bars: The bars are roughly 4 ounces. Our soaps are made by hand, in small batches, and hand cut by cool women. We're not machines, people, nor do we aspire to be.  

Packaging: See the Packaging page of this website for details. Soap packaging is made from recycled materials and is recyclable and also compostable.
